Wings of DC

Writer's picture: Dani SauterDani Sauter

Spread your wings and fly! My obsession of DC Street Art and Murals took me to U Street this weekend to find the famous angel wings by artist Colette Miller. Other than the obvious fact that these wings are awesome, the coolest thing about them is that the artist has painted variations of these wings in cities across the globe. Called the Global Angel Wings Project, she paints these wings to lift spirits of people on the streets. With wings in Africa, Australia, and the U.S. I'd say we are lucky to have a set of wings in DC. If you can't make it to DC for your own photo op, Crystal City also has wings painted by the artist for part of the Crystal City Business Improvement District. Hurry up and flutter your wings to see this amazing street art that is sure to boost your morale and bring a smile to your face.
