Blonde in the District featured on ZOPHIA's CEO Monday!

Happy Monday, Fashion Friends!

I have exciting news! I'm honored to say that I was featured in an interview today for ZOPHIA's CEO Monday series. ZOPHIA specializes in high quality, gorgeous, custom pencil skirts and styling for DC women. I had the priviledge of meeting with ZOPHIA CEO and Founder, Betsy Garcete a few weeks ago to learn more about her and the ZOPHIA brand. Betsy and her small team of designers and seamstresses design custom skirts here in DC that are tailored to your exact measurements and style. The wonderful thing about ZOPHIA is there are no size labels- the only size is YOUR size. Betsy's passion for design and CEO style is very clear- she wants to impact women through her designs to feel confident and powerful, no matter your size or shape. In addition to being a fabulous, creative designer, she can draw like no ones business! Her hand painted CEO Doll cards are a brand staple and are even featured on the STYLECABLE website! Below is a copy of the CEO Monday interview, for the full post visit the ZOPHIA CEO Monday site.

"Redefining femininity can't be done alone. 1 pencil skirt at a time, we can help women of all sizes feel confident."- Betsy Garcete, Founder/CEO of ZOPHIA

SMARTEST BLONDE IN THE DISTRICT SHARES CEOSTYLE

December 22, 2014

By Betsy Garcete

The moment I met her I felt we’d get along like old friends. She has this warm, bubbly and gorgeous personality that blew me away. This ravishing woman is more than a blogger, she’s a fashion warrior. Honestly! As we chatted over coffee at Slipstream, we talked about life, fashion, our dreams and apple butter! What impressed me the most was her genuine concern for her friends. I loved hearing about how she tries to encourage her friends to embrace their curves. She truly has powerwoman abilities. I present to you Danielle Sauter, the beauty behind Blonde in the District.

Q: Describe your passion in three words.

Women Empowerment & Confidence

Q. What gets you up in the morning? What do you look forward to? Be honest.

I have a lot of aspirations and am a big dreamer. Waking up and knowing I’m one day closer to accomplishing my goals and dreams is what motivates me everyday.

Q: Drinks with Coco Chanel or Beyonce?

Such a hard one! I’m intrigued by Coco Chanel’s story and journey into becoming a world-famous icon and brand, so I’ll have to pick her. And if she could give me some of her vintage jewelry and handbags, that’d be great too.

Q: What do you love about blogging?

I love the creative thought process that goes into each blog post. I actually decided to start up Blonde in the District as a way to express my creative side. I also love reaching women, identifying with them, and helping them realize their own potential through style, which is another reason I started up my blog. Creativity, women empowerment and confidence through style, and DC features is what my blog is all about.

Q: What do you think the DC fashion scene needs?

MORE FASHION EVENTS! And maybe more of a style edge. I love DC, but DC is definitely not known for our style, and I think we can change that over time.

Q: Any advice for women that have a hard time finding their size?

Yes! I’ve personally battled with body image my whole life until recently. A lot of the cause of my body issues stemmed from having a hard time finding the perfect fit with clothing since I’m so curvy. When looking for clothes you have to keep an open mind and try on everything because you never know what will look good or not just by looking at it on a hanger. Don’t dismiss an item from the start- TRY IT ON. I’ve been surprised by trying on clothing that I thought would look terrible on my shape, to find it looks great. Part of the battle is taking the time to shop around and don’t get discouraged if clothes don’t fit you at every store you go into. Don’t view shopping as negative, view it as positive, because when you do find an item that looks great on you, your whole confidence level can go up from that one item. In some cases, you may need to go up a size for the right fit, and you know what? That’s OK! Size is just a number anyways and does not define who you are.

Q: In your own words, what is #ceostyle?

Ceostyle is wearing your confidence on your sleeve and owning your style. So many times we try to hide our style and conform to the standard. Ceostyle is knowing your style, breaking the standard, and owning your look with confidence and poise.

HAPPY CEO MONDAY!
