Today's post is all about fun accessories! A fun accessory can make (or break) your outfit and not only make a statement, but reflect your mood or be a conversation starter in social settings. Here is my guide to finding fun accessories, such as this OOTD clutch by Saturday Kate Spade I scored from T.J. Maxx!
Fun Accessory Rules:
1. Pick accessories in bright colors that pop, making them that much more noticeable. Had this clutch been in black or a dark color, it wouldn't be as noticeable and look just like any other black clutch.
2. Pick accessories that are a reflection of your personality. For example, I was drawn to this clutch that says 'OOTD' since I'm a style blogger. Or say you like cats- a clutch with kitty ears or kitty earrings would be a purr-fect accessory!
3. Don't go overboard. For instance, if you like cats like my above rule, don't wear all cat everything and look crazy. Wear one fun accessory at a time so you can still be taken seriously.
4. Keep it fun. In other words, don't wear something that has a saying or image that could be offensive to others. Keep it light and appropriate.
5. Don't spend a fortune. In reality, you likely won't get as much use out of fun accessories as you do classic pieces since you can't wear them all the time. Some of the best places to buy these fun statement pieces are places like T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, or cheaper trendy stores.
