Caffe Aficionado

As an avid coffee drinker, I am always on the hunt for great coffee shops in the DC area. Luckily, we have a number of amazing coffee shops and cafes at our finger tips here and its a personal goal of mine to try them all! There was one spot in particular I was really excited to try, Caffe Aficionado in Rosslyn, VA, after seeing some pictures and reviews on Yelp. I was attracted to Caffe Aficionado since people were raving about their latte art- not to mention their really really good coffee.

Caffe Aficionado is tucked into the Deloitte and CEB building at the bottom of N. Lynn St. near Lee Hwy. Its a cozy cafe with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I was instantly greeted by the baristas and decided on the Honey Cinnamon Latte on their specials list- but in true cat lady fashion, I asked if it was possible to make a cat in the latte. The baristas, Marco and Luwam happily complied and I was anxious for the outcome. Finding a place that makes cat latte art is a total deal breaker and hard to come by in the area!

After meticulous attention to detail from Luwam, my latte was ready and I legit squealed with excitement upon seeing the cat face in the latte art. Seriously, not only was this latte too cute for words, but it was delicious and instantly hit the spot. Between the friendliness (and talent!) of the staff, the coffee, and the atmosphere, Caffe Aficionado tops my list of favorite coffee shops in the area! While I only tried the coffee this go round, I look forward to visiting again soon and trying the food as well. Everything looked and smelled wonderful, but I already had brunch plans and didn't want to spoil my appetite. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem in Rosslyn and checking it out for yourself!
