Its no surprise that I am always on the hunt for new (and old) street art around the DC area. One of my favorite mural artists is Colette Miller known for her Global Angel Wings Project. Her winged murals are an interactive way to promote positivity and happiness, and remind passer-by's that we are the Angels of the Earth. I have been following Colette Miller for some time now, always interested in where her wings are being painted next. I love the interactive piece of her art and the feel-good vibes I get from seeing the colorful wings. Not to mention the pictures are pretty fantastic and make for awesome social media posts.
So far, there have been three wing murals painted in the DC area (see previous post about the wings here), but unfortunately two were painted over/removed, so we are left with one standing wing mural which is located at the Embassy Row Hotel. Having been to the other murals, I took some time before going to see this one, saving it up for the right moment. The right moment came over the weekend when I had planned for a completely different outfit shoot that was ruined by the rainy weather. In a bind, and having to make a quick decision, I decided this was the perfect time to visit the Embassy Row wings and brighten up the rainy day! Check out the angel wings for yourself at The Embassy Row Hotel, 2015 Massachusetts Ave NW, Wash DC and while there, check out the awesome hotel and rooftop!
