Romping Around

Writer's picture: Dani SauterDani Sauter

Rompers are one of those trendy items that I at first rolled my eyes at, then started to shop for as soon as I got outfit inspo and saw their potential. The idea of a romper is easy, but finding one that fits well is a whole different story- at least for me it was. I tried on rompers everywhere, always coming up empty handed so I gave up on my search and settled that maybe rompers were not for me.

Then, one day while browsing Forever 21, I found this black romper and decided to give it a try since I was having a good day. To my surprise the romper fit well and was flattering for once, so I immediately walked it to the register and left happy with my new romper in hand.

Since buying it, I have worn it dressed down for the most part to cook-outs or casual events. I decided to dress my romper up on a spur of the moment whim, when I was running late from work and had to get ready fast to meet some of my blogger baes out for an event Tuesday night. I knew I wanted to wear the romper as its hotter than the sun outside and the romper is cool and breathable, but I hadn't thought of any other accessories. Having come straight from work, I threw on the same blazer I had worn that day over my romper, grabbed my fave studded (and comfortable) wedges, and accessorized with a choker and layered necklace to add depth to the all black ensemble. I looked in the mirror anxious that the look may not work- but it totally did and I was happy with my take on the dressed-up romper. I guess you could say I work well under pressure.

Running late, I grabbed an Uber to Union Market where my blogger friend, Roxanne and I were meeting for pre-event OOTD pictures. Union Market is a great place to snap pictures thanks to their colorful murals and grab a quick coffee from Peregrine Espresso for a boost of energy before walking into an event. Shout out to Roxanne for these fun OOTD pictures!
