Provincetown Travel Diaries: End of Summer Style

Over Labor Day weekend, my husband and I packed up our car, rented the cutest Airbnb cottage ever, and hit the road to Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA. We didn't have much time, but we knew we wanted a fun holiday weekend escape, so after lots of back-and-forth trying to pick the perfect location, we decided on Provincetown as it was something different, I hadn't been since I was a teenager, and my husband had never been. I have wonderful memories of Cape Cod as a child and teenager from visiting the Cape with my parents for summer vacations. I had memories of Provincetown being a funky, artful town, and I knew now, as an adult, I'd appreciate the charming town even more, and wanted to share this with my husband.

While I was expecting to make one large Travel Diaries post about our wonderful weekend, as soon as I started to edit my pictures I soon realized I'd need to break up the series into a few posts from all the content I have! I decided to start this travel entry with my outfit details from Provincetown, for two reasons. One, I had a theme for my outfit choices to wear all my summer threads that I'd have to pack up soon after returning from the trip for fall. Second, some of these pieces are almost out of stock or on sale and I want to ensure you can score them while they're still available! So, to kick off my Provincetown Travel Diaries, I bring you my style picks from the Labor Day weekend!

Outfit 1: We arrived in Cape Cod at 5:30am after driving all night. To be comfortable in the car, I wore my Kanye inspired Life of Pablo shirt, which happened to go great with the sunrise we caught at Cahoon Hollow Beach. More on this sunrise later....

Outfit 2: After arriving in Provincetown, we had some time to kill before checking into our Airbnb. I decided to wear this comfortable Diane von Furstenberg Kaftan that I scored at Nordstrom Rack last year (similar here and here), which catches the beach wind beautifully and was comfortable and cool for wandering the streets of Provincetown.

Outfit 3: For Saturday night dinner, I opted for a fancier look of this Plenty by Tracy Reese Flounced Maxi Dress. I had just scored this dress from the Anthropologie sale rack and wanted to get a wear in before summer's end. This dress is easily my new summer fave and I cannot wait to bring it out again next summer! While it's no longer on the Anthro site, I found it on Amazon.

Outfit 4: We hit the Ptown Harbor for a bit on Sunday to take in the water and views. While it was too cool to swim (and to be honest I'm scared of the water there because of sharks!), I wore this Coastland Cover-up from Anthropologie, which I had purchased earlier this summer and had yet to wear. This cover-up is the perfect addition to your summer pool and beach picks, and best of all- still on mega sale- so you can snag it now and save it for next year!

Outfit 5: For our last day in Ptown (told you guys we were only there a short time!), I decided to wear my beloved Modcloth Flamingo Dress and Tory Burch Sandals (similar here). Just looking at this dress makes me happy, so I wanted to bask in the happiness of this dress before having to retire it until next year. Since this dress is so whimsical, it was the perfect piece to wear in the equally whimsical Ptown to say goodbye to summer.

XOXO
