In the Spirit of Sequins

Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and stores are already decked out in holiday spirit. I know some people get so annoyed with Christmas displays popping up before Thanksgiving, but in all honesty- I love it.

In addition to the glittering holiday displays in stores, the clothing racks are packed with all things sequin and glitzy- my absolute fave. Sequins has always been a favorite of mine, and I love how much sequin is embraced for the holidays. Sequin + Holidays truly go hand in hand, and is the perfect time to go all out and get decked out for holiday parties and events.

To prepare for the season of glitz & glamour (although I feel like I embrace every season like this, lol), I'm going to be doing style round ups that you can use for holiday party and NYE shopping guides! Today's guide is all about sequin dresses! I firmly believe that every woman needs at least one sequin dress in her closet- you never know when it will come in handy!

Below are some fabulous sequin picks available in a range of sizes, as well as some tips on how to wear/style your sequins.

Sequin Style Tips:

1. Don't be afraid to mix textures. For instance, throwing a jean jacket or leather moto on top of sequins can be cool super cool and edgy. You can also top a sequin dress with a boyfriend blazer or velvet blazer for a unique look.

2. If you're worried about the sequins being 'too much' (I personally think there's no such thing, but I get not everyone loves sequin as much as I do, lol), stick with a neutral color of sequin like black, champagne, or rose gold. This way you can still wear the sequins without feeling like an all out disco ball.

3. Don't shy from accessories! Pair your sequin dress with some fun printed heels or booties and statement earrings!

4. If sequin irritates your arms/underarms - sometimes this can happen if the dress is sleeveless - pair a blazer or light jacket on top to guard your arms from being exposed to the sequin. I personally prefer sleeved sequin dresses for this reason.
