Things I love: style, champagne, Paris, cats, shoes, Paris, style, red lipstick …… did I happen to mention Paris? My love of Paris has opened me up to French lifestyle and culture, and let’s just say, I admire <almost> anything French- especially if it’s clothing!
When the classic French clothing brand Anne Fontaine reached out to me, I was ecstatic. Anne Fontaine is a brand that was created in 1993 to create an entire feminine universe around the white shirt, the perennial staple and effortless chic. In 1994, Anne Fontaine opened her first store in the Saint Germain neighborhood of Paris, and in 1995 began to expand. The brand that started with classicly beautiful white shirts, evolved to all styles of clothing, shoes, and accessories and have stores around the world today.
I know of Anne Fontaine from passing the boutique in Tysons Galleria many times. I always thought it was such a beautiful store and loved the Parisian chic vibes that you could instantly feel when looking at the window displays. I always imagined the Anne Fontaine woman to be the center of style attention, walking down a Paris street with all eyes on her. When I shoot this look, I wanted to incorporate that vision- a stylish woman feeling confident and beautiful, with a touch of romance and wonder.
I received the Malaga Black Woven Mesh Tunic Dress with Floral Pattern from the Anne Fontaine team. I was a little worried about sizing with the brand, but Anne Fontaine does carry size 14 and select 16 items. I ordered the size 48 (size 16) and it fits perfectly. I chose this dress for two reasons- the first is the mesh detailing- I think its gorgeous!, and second- for its dual use since it can be worn as a dress or as a tunic.
For this post, I decided to wear it as a tunic over jeans. I decided on this, as I thought wearing it as a dress for this post would be too easy. I wanted to show the versatility of this classic French piece, and how it can be worn with modern, trendy items like pearl encrusted jeans.
Outfit Details: Malaga dress c/o Anne Fontaine | Belt | Jeans | Sunnies | Clutch | Flats (similar) | Earrings |
I wore the Malaga piece with a tank tucked into my favorite pearl encrusted jeans, pearl embellished slides, pearl Gucci belt, and fun conversation clutch. I love how this look turned out. It pushed me a little style wise, and I’m glad I took the challenge. I have also worn the Malaga piece as a dress, over a black slip dress, which is perfect for a night out or party.
In addition to this piece, Anne Fontaine has a number of amazing pieces, all available on the website here, which I urge you to check out for some serious French style inspiration.
