VA IS FOR LOVERS...

French cafes and fancy dresses. What’s better than that? Brunching at French cafes wearing fancy dresses. This month I teamed up with Gwynnie Bee, one of my fave online style memberships, to show my state superlative of style AND give details for a fabulous #GBMyCityStyle Summer Road Trip contest, which I'm urging you all to enter (keep reading for details!)! To me, Virginia is for lovers, who love a great weekend brunch. Brunch is literally a way of life for us DC Area residents, and lets face it- if there's one thing DC does well, its bottomless brunch! We do brunch so well, in fact, whenever I have friends visiting from other cities, the one thing they always want to do is experience a DC brunch!

But the key here, is what to wear to brunch! Brunch in the DC metro area is a weekend staple. Many plans, parties, and events are thrown during brunch, and for many places, brunch is the best place to see-and-be-seen, so dressing chic is a must. Plus, who doesn’t Instagram brunch nowadays? We gotta look good for the gram, if you know what I’m saying!

As a dress girl, I am always up for a fanciful and fun dress that makes me feel great as I’m sipping mimosas and brunching on waffles <and bacon>. With brunch being right in the middle of the day, I like the versatility of wearing a pretty dress as I can go directly from a morning coffee date to brunch, or head out to a late-afternoon event after brunch, all without having to worry about changing. And if you do have to change, it can be as minor as changing from flats to heels, or swapping purses.

One of the best things about using Gwynnie Bee, is the flexibility. They have an amazing selection of new summer dresses that are perfect for a chic brunch and the best part is- you can wear, return, or keep the items! I love having the option of returning an item if it’s something I don’t necessarily need in my closet, but want for a certain event <or brunch!>, or having the choice to buy the item if I really love it- all at a discounted rate!

For this brunch look I'm wearing a Modcloth Sleeveless Floral Print Fit And Flare Dress, which is available in sizes XS-4X on Gwynnie Bee! Gwynnie Bee recently expanded their sizing to cater to women of all sizes and now carries sizing options for size 0-32. If you haven’t tried membership yet, I’m urging you to give it a try. If you're interested in seeing more about how it works, you can read more about my first experience using Gwynnie Bee here.

And now for the Summer Road Trip contest details! This summer, Gwynnie Bee is gifting a #GBMyCityStyle Summer Road Trip Package for an amazing summer road trip valued at over $3,000! If you win, you'll get to experience a new city and see first hand what style the city is known for! Here are the deets:

The Grand Prize includes:

$1,000 Visa gift card for car rental, dining, and road trip snacks and souvenirs

$1,000 Hilton gift card

$600 in gas (Shell gift card)

$400 to Calpak for new luggage

1 year subscription to Gwynnie Bee (2-item plan)

Entering this is a no-brainer, right? All you have to do to enter is:

1. Share a photo on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, showing what you think your state, city/town, or area is best known for from a fashion perspective.

2. In the caption, say where you’re from and why the item or photo showcases your city’s style!

3. Tag! In addition to using #GBMyCityStyle in the caption, you must tag the official business profile of Gwynnie Bee on the site from which you’re entering (@gwynniebee).

Note: The social media profile from which you publish must be public so the GB team can see and accept your entry. You can also submit an entry using the sweepstakes form on this page. Good Luck! And happy brunching!
