The Glow Up is Real with SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight

As someone who cares deeply about taking care of my skin, I was extremely excited to attend a luncheon with SkinCeuticals and Dr Smith-Phillips from Mount Pleasant Dermatology, earlier this month to learn about the brand and their all new advanced skincare technology.

If you aren’t familiar with SkinCeuticals, they are a US-based clinical skincare brand dedicated to improving skin health by providing advanced skincare backed by science. The science behind their skincare technology is born from decades of skin cancer research that led to pivotal breakthroughs in antioxidants. SkinCeuticals is used by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medi-spas – and most recently, ME! – and their products help correct signs of aging, help protect healthy skin, and help prevent future skin damage.

Attending the luncheon was my first real experience with SkinCeuticals, and I was eager to learn more about skincare, as it is a topic I wanted to introduce more into my blog for 2019. I think sometimes people can become overwhelmed with skincare, or not understand how important it is in maintaining the health of our skin, so I hope to inspire you to look into your skincare routine through today’s post. I learned so much with SkinCeuticals and I’m excited to share some of the main take-aways, and my experience in using some of the products thus far!

The purpose of the SkinCeuticals luncheon was to introduce the all new Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight, a nighttime glycolic acid cream that delivers a true 10% glycolic acid value to promote cellular turnover for healthy, glowing skin. You may be wondering what this means. Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is found in foods. It works on skin to get rid of dull and dead skin cells, which reveals the appearance of newer, healthier skin, and it helps to generate new cell generation to help improve skin texture and tone. The Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight contains a free acid value of 10% glycolic acid, allowing it to work at a true 10% concentration in promoting effective exfoliation (bye, dead skin cells!), and natural cell turnover. The cream improves the appearance of skin texture and tone to promote a bright complexion and glowing skin.

I have been using the SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight, and I have seen visible changes in my skin- all for the better. The most noticeable changes are the redness in my skin tone. I normally struggle with redness as my main area of concern for my skin, with skin sensitivity trailing in second. Since using the cream nightly over the last 3 weeks, I have seen a huge improvement in my skin tone and redness in the mornings. There have been mornings I have woken up and looked in the mirror and literally thought “WOW” to see my skin looking fresh and glowing, with extremely diminished redness. When tracking the progress of skincare, I always like to see before and after photos. In the photos below, you can see the visible difference between the left photo, taken sans makeup in the morning before ever using the Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight. On the right, you can see how my skin looks first thing in the morning after using the Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight for 3 weeks. This photo was taken just this past Sunday.

In addition to the notable difference in the mornings, I can especially tell when applying my makeup, too. I have noticed my makeup goes on much smoother and looks even better, as my skin is more even and I do not have areas of dryness or patchy areas of skin from dead skin cells. This cream is truly amazing, and has completely opened my eyes to healthy skincare. My photographer partner, Arielle Lewis, has even commented on my skin saying that it looks incredible and she has had to do very minimal, if any, skin retouching in my latest blog photos!

During the SkinCeuticals luncheon, I also learned about some of their other products, like the Custom D.O.S.E. The Custom D.O.S.E is a personalized correction treatment designed specifically for your skin. It contains 14 unique ingredients to improve the look of skin discoloration and visible signs of aging. Part of the SkinCeuticals event took us to the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting (AAD), where we got to see the SkinCeuticals booth and the Custom D.O.S.E technology in real life. The Custom D.O.S.E serum is made on the spot through their advanced technology, after a 3-5 minute consultation with a skincare professional. The serum is personalized based on a 3 month timeframe, and during your next consultation you may receive a different treatment, based on your skin’s progress, seasonal changes, and more. You can obtain your own personalized Custom D.O.S.E at select SkinCeuticals partner physician practices throughout the US.

Since the luncheon/AAD conference, I have been using both the Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight and my personalized Custom D.O.S.E, with a new addition of the best Vitamin C serum (more on that one, later!) . I know it’s crazy to say this within just 3 weeks, but my skin has honestly NEVER looked better. I am amazed by the progress my skin has made, and am in complete awe of the Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight cream.
