Thanks to the Kardashians, I know all about body contouring and lasers and have been intrigued about it for years. To be honest, I had been wanting to try body contouring on my stomach area and arms- both of which I’ve admittedly been self-conscious about in the past. I never mustered up the courage to try it, and I learned to embrace my body instead of hating it and nitpicking it apart.
With the Lumenis NuEra tight technology
Earlier this fall I was approached by Lumenis to try their NuEra tight Treatment. At first I wondered how it may be perceived. A body positive blogger trying out something to alter my body made me nervous at potential backlash, but I thought about it for a while. I legitimately wanted this done. I wanted to see what the buzz was about, and ultimately I wanted the experience. While I believe that we should all be accepting of our bodies as they are, I also believe that if there is something on your body that bothers you and you have the means to improve it in a safe way, then why not? If having one small thing done on your appearance will make you feel better and boost your confidence, then I say go for it. Again- within reason and as long as it’s SAFE. We also should not rely solely on cosmetic procedures to feel confident- while it can definitely help, it’s not the only way to gain confidence or feel good about ourselves.
The Lumenis NuEra tight is a heat controlled radio frequency skin smoothing system with the power to target and revive, uplift and perfect, and tighten the skin. It can improve the overall quality of the skin and even helps to improve the appearance of cellulite and skin laxity. The treatment can be done on both the body and face, and requires zero downtime or discomfort.
I decided to have the Lumenis NuEra tight treatment on my stomach area and jawline. My treatment was done at Kaizen Medispa in Bethesda- the closest spa in the DC area to have the NuEra tight technology. For my first visit, Kaizen Medispa Director, Deidre Fisher, CRNP, FNP-C, sat down with me for a consultation and to discuss expectations. She ran me through the entire procedure and explained the process. The treatment is quick- only 20 minutes per area- and painless. Since I was having two areas done, the process took 40 min total. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after the first session I learned it was a complete breeze.
Experiencing the Lumenis NuEra tight at Kaizen Medispa
The treatment itself is quick, but it is also comfortable and there is no downtime. The NuEra tight is administered to your skin using a heated probe. The probe is massaged against your skin for the full 20 minutes and that’s literally it. At times the probe does get hot, but it is completely manageable and there is no discomfort. After the procedure, I was totally fine and I personally did not experience any tenderness or discomfort in my treated areas. All in all- the treatments were a breeze!
I had a round of 4 treatments done on both my stomach and jawline. Depending on the area, 3-4 sessions are recommended for the full treatment and to see full results. The results I’ve noticed are most within my jawline. My jawline is much more chiseled and sharp, and it has improved an area of my neck I was self-conscious about. I also noticed my cheeks look more prominent and defined as a result of my sharper neckline. For my stomach area, my results are a reduced appearance of cellulite, a slightly flatter mid-section, and I can feel my pants actually fit better! (Note- It’s important to keep in mind that results vary, and NuEra isn’t a weight loss treatment- it is a treatment to tighten and improve your skin.)

Every time I look in the mirror and see my tightened jawline, I’m happy that I decided to try NuEra and experience it for myself. If you’re intrigued by this, I’d tell you to go ahead and try it! Based on my experience and results, it found that it works and I would totally do it again. My favorite thing about Lumenis NuEra tight is how easy and fast the procedure is, without any downtime. The cost of the treatment is $200-250 depending on the treatment area (for example, my jawline was estimated at $200 and my stomach at $250), per area, per session.
