IDK about you, but January was busy, busy! I’m not sure if it was because so many of us were cooped up over the holidays or if it’s a theme of how 2022 is going to be, but it felt good to be out and about for events & visiting with friends again! Over the month I visited some new spots I’ve been wanting to try & was pleasantly surprised! Below is a recap of 3 new restaurants/bars I tried in January!
Okkkk this place was fabulous but maybe I’m biased since it *is* French. Located in the former Dolcezza location at The Wharf, Bistro du Jour has an amazing Parisian-themed patio and aesthetically pleasing interior. The drinks and food were delish and I already can’t wait to go back! Bonus: their bread & whipped butter was insaneeee!
I’m sure you have already heard of this place for their 40 layer lasagna. Yes, 40-layer-lasagna! This was the exact reason we went and it was 100% worth the visit alone. In addition to the lasagna, the appetizers were very good and the icing on the cake was the L’Ardente Espresso Martini! Yum!
I honestly couldn’t believe I hadn’t been here yet! Old Hat is a new-ish bar in Old Town with a very cool vibe & event cooler cocktail menu. Everything at Old Hat has an art spin - from the artfully crafted drinks to the art hanging on the walls! It’s a must-visit spot in Old Town Alexandria!
